MJS Sarap Mabuhay, which sells Filipino and Oriental food products, opened up its shop located in the heart of Peterborough city centre last 18th of April.
Located at Unit 1 of 2 Park Road in Peterborough (post code PE1 2TD), MJS Sarap Mabuhay mainly caters to the needs of the growing community of Filipinos in the city and its surrounding towns and villages. The shop is owned and ran by entrepreneurial Filipino couple Sergio and Jennifer Fabian who took heed of the Filipino community’s growing demands for Filipino food products to be sold in the city.
A local Chinese food store has been selling Filipino food products for some time now. But only MJS Sarap Mabuhay offers a wider array of Filipino food products which are sold with the homely and personal touch of the Fabian couple, which is characteristic of the renowned Filipino hospitality.
Shop owner Sergio Fabian is very happy with the support he is getting for his business. He said, “I have been getting a steady stream of clients since I opened in April. The Filipino community in Peterborough are my main clients and they have been a great help to me in spreading the word through Facebook and word of mouth.”
“In front of my shop is a taxi rank so it is also popular with the taxi drivers. I also have regular customers from other ethnic communities.”
